The following are examples of large murals, both private and commercial commissions, school projects with primary and secondary students, and also projects which I have volunteered on.
Ryan's Super Valu, Grange
Painted for Ryan's Super Valu, Grange, this mural represents Ryans' passion for their in-store produced goods and the value they place on supporting their local community.
The Wella, Togher
This mural, painted on an underpass, was commissioned by Togher Tidy Towns and Cork City Council.
A Bee At Brookfield
Follow Booley the bee as she explores Brookfield in UCC and learns why bees are so important to a healthy world. These murals are adaptations from the book, 'A Bee at Ucc', written by JP Quinn & illustrated by Charlie Ruxton, and painted at the clinic reception at Brookfield, UCC.
Douglas Community School 2022
This mural, inspired by the figures of Keith Haring, was painted with 4th years and represents some of the societies and sports activities students take part in at DCS.
Targets - Gaelcholáiste Mhuire, A.G. North Monastery
Through a series of workshops, students were shown techniques to create these designs to be used as targets for the schools hurling and camogie players.
The Lion and the Mouse - Knocklong National School, Limerick
Pupils from Junior Infants up to 6th class had a blast painting, making hand prints, spraying, splashing and scraping paint on the wall for this collaborative mural inspired by Aesop's fable, The Lion and the Mouse.
'Clean Air' - Cork City Council
This project, consisting a number of paintings on wood panel canvases, was commissioned by Cork City Council to celebrate the launch of their Clean Air Zone initiative.
Flora & Fauna - St Brigid's Pres, Killarney
This collaborative mural, saw students from 1st to 6th year get involved in the process of designing and painting a mural from start to finish.
Crann Centre
Series of murals commissioned for the Impact Hub at the Crann Centre, a fully-accessible co-working space in Cork.
Hockney's Bantry - Bantry Youth Reach
This Creative Schools project was painted with participants of Bantry Youthreach, using artist David Hockney as inspiration to create a large landscape mural of Bantry.
UCC Sustainable Communities
This mural depicts Cork now against an imagined Cork in 2050 where solutions to the climate crisis have helped make it a sustainable city. Commissioned by UCC. More info at - https://www.ucc.ie/en/eri/sustainablecommunities/
UCC Community Garden
Cleaned, primed and now adorned with artwork, this gate was painted at the entrance to UCC Community Gardens on College Road.
Windmill Rd
Private commission on a beautifully curved wall along an arched entranceway to a fab home. This mural takes on a new life at night with the up and down light fixtures.
Bunscoil Rinn an Chabhlaigh
School crest and motto artwork painted on the front of Bunscoil Rinn an Chabhlaigh.
Sheila's Hostel - Part 2
Artwork painted in the outdoor area for guests at Sheila's Hostel to transfer a grey will and to give the space a colourful lift.
Elbow Lane
Mural for the award-winning Elbow Lane Smokehouse and Brewery on Oliver Plunkett St. Cork.
Be a Rainbow in Someone Else's Cloud
This mural, painted in the school playground and with a message of kindness, was commissioned as a gift for Our Lady of Lourdes National School, Ballinlough, by recently retired principal Mary Lucey.
Charleville CBS Primary
A great week in Charleville CBS Primary working with pupils from junior infants through to 6th class to paint this mural with environmental themes on a 90ft long wall. It was a massive effort by all involved!
Hands of Hope Mural
I was thrilled to volunteer my services to create a design and to take part in this collaboration between Trigon Hotels and the Cope Foundation's Ability at Work Programme. The project was launched by Taoiseach Micheál Martin and Lord Mayor of Cork Joe Kavanagh and supported by Pat McDonnells Paints
Scholarlee Accomodation - Mardyke
This beautiful pop of colour is painted at the entrance to Scholarlee Accommodation on Mardyke walk, near the entrance to Fitzgerald's Park. It's the second collaboration with Scholarlee after also painting a mural at their Magazine Rd accommodation.
Solar System Mural - Douglas Community School
Together, with Douglas CS Transition year students and their teacher Mr. O'Mahony, we painted this 200ft long scaled solar system which also features Voyager & a spaceman designed by one of the students.
The planets are to scale, with Earth at 0.75m and Jupiter over 11 times bigger. The centre point of each planet also shows its distance from the sun.
Sir Alan Cobham's Flying Circus
A little nod to the history of Ballincollig and the visits of Sir Alan Cobham's Flying Circus in the 1930s. Painted at Healy's Post Office.

Scholarlee Accommodation
Painted in collaboration with Magazine Rd Residents Association and Scholarlee Accommodation, and based on a mural proposed by their marketing team., Kunnert and Tierney.
Scoil Barra Naofa
As a surprise to welcome back pupils at Scoil Barra Naofa after a long break due to COVID-19, this mural was painted at the school entrance to brighten up an otherwise gray wall.
Pink Moon Cafe
An orangutan swings from branches against the backdrop of a pink moon in this mural on Washington St!
Market Lane
Stop and smell the flowers at this vibrant mural painted on the gable end of Market Lane restaurant on Beasly St, just off Oliver Plunkett St.

Idaho Cafe
This interactive mural was painted on the exterior of Idaho Cafe, Caroline St. Based on an idea of the owners Mairead and Richard.
Includes a creative replacement of a stolen 'O' on the cafe signage!
Sheila's Hostel
A series of murals commissioned by Sheila's Hostel in Cork City, adding colour & vibrancy throughout the building.
Space Mural - Douglas CS 2022
A box room that was in need of more space... This painting was created to bring something fresh to the view from this box room.
Garden Mural - Ballincollig
This mural was painted to transform a dull yard into a more appealing outdoor 'chill-out' area leading into a garden.
St Peters
Mural painted in St Peter's heritage centre on North Main St, Cork City. Painted to add some colour and vibrancy, and to also increase footfall to mezzanine area of the building.
Butterfly Wall - Cobh
This mural, painted on a 65ft wall for Cobh Tidy Towns, features 6 native Irish species of butterflies aimed at promoting awareness of biodiversity. Painted at the Five Foot Way with permission from Irish Rail.
The butterflies featured include Painted Lady, Common Blue, Red Admiral, Peacock, Green Hairstreak and Orange Tip butterflies.
The People's Parklet
As part of my role with Mad About Cork, I volunteered to paint The People's Parklet on Douglas St. This new public amenity replaces two parking spaces on the street and offers everyone a comfortable place to chat and chill. The parklet offers bike parking, benches, wheelchair access and has been planted up with lots of pollinator-friendly plants.
Nana's Bar
Painted in the beer garden of Nana's bar on Douglas St, Cork. This mural features a tribute to the Jameson Distillery in Midleton, an interactive stylised butterfly, and a decorative seating area.

The Shack at the Marina
This shelter, known by rowers on the Lee as 'the shack', had been lying in a state of disrepair on the Marina for years. With the help of Mad About Cork volunteers led by Michael Devery and I, and the Ballintemple Residents Association, we gave the shelter a fresh makeover and some colourful designs.
Culture Night 2018
I led this Mad About Cork event for Culture Night 2018, painted on North Main Street with the help of the other Mad About Cork volunteers and using words of Doireann Ní Ghríofa's poem, 'From Richmond Hill'.
Bandon Walled Town Festival
Mural painted in my hometown of Bandon for the Bandon Walled Town Festival of 2018. The fox and the heron are two animals often seen in thge field and on the river banks around the town. Painted with Alan Hurley.
