Ballincollig Post Office

These artworks are inspired by the  Caoineadh Airt Uí Laoghaire, a lament by Eibhlín Dubh Ní Chonaill lament for her slain lover Art O'Leary who is buried in Kilcrea Friary, This is one of the most famous poems of the 18th century and is a classic example of the Irish tradition of 'caoineadh' or keening following a persons death.
